BREAKING: Aaron Hernandez Charged With Murder, More Gun-Related Charges

New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has been charged with the murder of Odin Lloyd and five gun-related charges, according to the prosecutor in Attleborough.

Lloyd’s body, which according to law enforcement was shot multiple times, was discovered less than a mile from Hernandez’s home on June 17

Lloyd’s sister told authorities that Lloyd left his home that morning at 2:30 a.m. in a car believed to be leased in Hernandez's name. The prosecutor said that Lloyd’s phone showed communications with Hernandez in the hours leading up to his death.

There had been reports that Hernandez destroyed parts of his home surveillance system and cell phone before authorities were able to review them for evidence.

The prosecutor told the court Wednesday roughly six to eight hours of footage were missing from Hernandez’s surveillance system after the murder.

Hernandez was arrested early on Wednesday morning with his hands inside a t-shirt while handcuffed. Shortly after that, the Patriots announced the release of the three-year tight end.
