Messi breaks Gerd Muller's 40-year old record for goals in a calendar year.

Lionel Messi scored twice on Sunday to give him 86 goals in 2012, breaking the 40-year record Gerd Muller held with 85 goals. Messi shone desipte midweek injury fears, scoring both of Barcelona's goals on the day.
