TSL Sports Talk Recap: Darren Woodson

Last week on TSL Sports Talk, former Dallas Cowboy and ESPN’s, Darren Woodson joined us to talk about Fan Print, NFL Players' Assistance Fund and a new licensing apparel agreement that will help NFL players in need. TSL Sports Talk host, Mark Gray, talked to Woodson about players that have suffered significant injuries throughout their career and are unable to sustain an income after they leave the NFL.

Woodson:

I’m a partner in a company called Fan Print. We have the first of its kind licensing deal with NFL PA (Players' Assistance), to create cool sports merchandise made by the fan, for the fans.. We launched yesterday and immediately we saw fans all over the country – all over the world, we’re talking from the Phillipines, Bengladesh – we’ve seen artists who have basically put their favorite player graphics on our site who want to get going. It has been huge for the fans. The fans are coming out strong. They’re creating their own artwork and bringing it to our site. So we have product for the top 100 players in the league. The entire licensing fee is going to be donated by the NFL Players' Assistance Fund, which gives back to the players that have fallen on hard times. You see a lot of players that have played in the ‘80s and ‘90s and some of those players have CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy), some of the players have had major back injuries and can’t work anymore. So the Players Assistance Fund gives money back to those players in need.

Fans can participate by going to fanprint.com.
