TSL Co-Sign: Incase EO Travel Roller

Incase's popularity as a brand has grown largely because of their good-looking functional tech cases. They've expanded their product offerings to include a tech friendly five-piece luggage line, EO Travel. The line was designed specifically for those of us who hate checked baggage fees or what Incase defines as the "new generation of working weekenders whose approach to travel is minimalistic and defined by simplicity and connectivity."

One of the standouts from the collection is the soft shell Roller (shown in the middle). The carry-on (bags meet international carry-on size requirements) is good for weekend travel or a quick business trip. The main compartment (which is expandable by 35%) can easily fit a pair of shoes (or two if you have small feet), two to three outfits, toiletries and miscellaneous items. The capacity isn't beyond the norm, but what is special, is the triple coated water-resistant front panel. The zip-down compartment features several pockets for tech accessories and devices. The main pocket can fit a 17" MacBook (and it's lining is nice and plush to keep it safe), an iPad pocket and enough smaller slots to fit every cord you'll need. This means that going through TSA is a little bit easier because it simplifies taking out your laptop.

Aside from the functionality the carry-on provides, the appeal is definitely the design. Roller features premium materials, custom wheels and an adjustable handle. There is not another bag on the market that looks quite like any of the cases in the EO line. The clean look and contrast between the neon green and grey is visually pleasing without being obnoxious like some other high-end luggage.

The one thing we can say about the EO Roller that is not glaringly positive, is when the items in the main compartment are heavy, it can be a bit hard to steer. Over Christmas holiday, I carried electronic gifts and a couple books home in the Roller and it nearly tipped over a couple times. Multi-directional spinner wheels would take the Roller from a great piece of carry-on luggage to a perfect one.

Overall, the EO Travel Roller is worth the money. Regular travelers would be hard pressed to find another carry-on that serves its purpose this well and looks this good. Check for it in stores this spring.
