Aldon Smith Returns from Suspension, Patrick Willis’ Season Ends

You win some, you lose some. Coming off their biggest win of the season against the Saints, the 49ers are getting one of their key pieces back, Aldon Smith.

Smith, had been suspended for violating the league’s personal conduct and substance abuse policies. He was arrested on DUI, DWI and possession of automatic weapons, which is a felony charge; however these charges have been reduced.

As a result the league suspended him for nine games, taking away from a potent 49ers pass rush. Now Smith gets his first action of the season this week, partaking in the first walk throughs and team practices. With the 49ers saving their season last week, the return of Smith arguably makes them even more dangerous and provides another superstar caliber player for their opponents to game plan for.

Unfortunately, they'll be losing All-Pro middle linebacker Patrrick Willis for the entire season.

Willis has missed three consecutive games, but was placed on season-ending injury reserve Tuesday.

In his stead rookie Chris Borland has been an adequate replacement ater tallying 33 tackles in three games.
